What is Humans vs. Zombies

Humans vs. Zombies (HvZ) is a week long, 24/7 game of moderated tag commonly played on college campuses. A group of human players attempts to survive a “zombie outbreak” by outsmarting a growing group of zombie players.

Human players must remain vigilant and defend themselves with socks and Nerf guns to avoid being tagged by the growing zombie horde. Currently, Humans vs. Zombies is played at over 600 campuses across the United States!

Welcome back to school HvZ friends! While we have yet to meet, it's time to start getting prepared for the game this semester. As soon as we can manage, we'll start running abridged games and give you the chance to dust off your blasters, roll half your sock drawer, and get your bandanas sweaty.

RE: The Nerf Rival Line Greetings players, Some of you may have heard that Nerf is releasing a new product line called the Nerf Rival. This new product line is a ball launcher that is supposedly able to shoot balls over 70 mph. In light of this, The mod squad will in the coming weeks decide whether or not to allow the blaster line in our game. We will not vote on this sight-unseen, we will obtain a blaster and do test of it ourselves. We welcome any comments on this issue, especially because we have little precedent of banning blaster lines altogether. Please understand we will use our best judgements in deciding whether or not to allow the blaster line in our game. Thanks, Humans vs Zombies: Mizzou

While we wait for the semester to start up and the announcement of the game date, we wanted to take this opportunity to tell you about a cool course offering on campus. I'll let Dr. Roth, the professor, give you the low down: "There is still room to enroll in ENGLISH 2860 or FILM STUDIES 2860 (Film Themes & Genres: Zombies 'R' Us). Although MyZou lists a prerequisite (of ENG or F_STUD 1800), no prerequisite is necessary to succeed in this course. Interested students should email the instructor to request a permission number (rothl@missouri.edu)." If you want a course that is very much zombie related, fun, and actually encourages you to play our game. Look no further.
